Lagos APC Group Alleges Fraud, Demands Review of LG Primary Election Results
A group within the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Ebony Campaign Team, has called on party leaders to review the outcome of the recently concluded local government primary elections. The team alleges widespread irregularities in the process that saw their candidate, Hon. Idowu Daramola, officially recorded as scoring zero votes.
In a statement signed by spokesperson Morufdeen Bello, the group described the process as “a display of electoral malpractice of the highest order,” claiming the results were manipulated to favor a less popular candidate.
“The declaration that Hon. Idowu Daramola scored zero is not only laughable—it is completely false,” the statement said. “Seventeen out of twenty-five delegates cast their votes for Daramola. Declaring a zero score is not only a betrayal of trust, but an insult to the intelligence of party members and the people of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA.”
The team accused some party officials of attempting to impose an unpopular aspirant, warning that such actions could threaten the APC’s electoral prospects in the area. They called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) to urgently intervene and address the alleged injustice.
“This disgraceful manipulation is a brazen attempt to crush the will of the people,” Bello said. “Our candidate is popular, credible, and widely accepted. We reject this fraudulent result and demand an immediate reversal to reflect the actual votes cast.”

The statement also revealed that party insiders who previously undermined Daramola’s candidacy have since begun reaching out to him privately, which the group views as further evidence of a flawed and unjust process.
“We are not deterred,” Bello added. “We will continue to speak out until the truth is restored and justice is visibly served. Our appeal is simple: publish the actual results and remove those responsible for undermining democracy within our party.”
The Ebony Campaign Team reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful protest and due process but vowed not to relent until Daramola is recognized as the rightful winner of the primary.
