The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested three individuals in connection with the assault on its operatives at the Lagos State House of Assembly last week.

Mudashiru Obasa were allegedly planning to forcefully reinstate him. The assembly leadership invited security forces to prevent a breakdown of law and order.

According to security sources, lawmakers had mobilized supporters to the assembly complex, leading to an altercation where some DSS officers were attacked.
Following an extensive review of CCTV footage, the DSS identified and arrested three suspects: Ibrahim Olanrewaju Abdulkareem, a photographer, along with Adetu Adekunle Samsudeen and Adetola Oluwatosin Fatimoh, both attached to the assembly’s Sergeant-at-Arms. The trio was tracked and apprehended in different parts of Lagos.
A DSS source confirmed that the suspects have confessed to the crime and will soon be charged in court.
It can be recalled that in a leaked memo dated February 14, 2025, the Lagos State House of Assembly alerted the DSS and other security agencies about credible intelligence indicating Obasa’s plan to forcefully return to office on February 18, 2025.
The assembly management viewed the situation as a potential security threat, prompting proactive measures to safeguard the legislature and its members.
