Lagos Assembly Crisis: 36 Lawmakers Back Meranda with Vote of Confidence
Amid the ongoing leadership crisis in the Lagos State House of Assembly, lawmakers on Monday passed a vote of confidence in Speaker Princess Mojisola Meranda, affirming her leadership of the House.
Oladipo Ajomale, the member representing Oshodi/Isolo 2, moved the motion, stating that the Speaker was duly elected by the lawmakers and expressing confidence in her ability to continue leading the House.
Earlier reports highlighted that Department of State Security (DSS) and Nigeria Police Force operatives took control of the Lagos Assembly complex in Alausa, Ikeja, to ensure proper security during the plenary session.

Following the vote of confidence, the House adjourned its sitting until further notice. The motion was seconded by Aro Moshood, with the remaining 34 lawmakers supporting the motion, solidifying their confidence in Speaker Mojisola Meranda.
