The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday received the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, at the Lagos House in Ikeja.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Jandor shared that the visit was an opportunity to appreciate Governor Sanwo-Olu for his composure during the heated 2023 election season.

“During the meeting, I appreciated Governor Sanwo-Olu for being a gentleman who, despite all we threw at him during the electioneering process, exhibited unprecedented calmness,” he wrote.

Jandor also used the occasion to formally inform the governor of his defection from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the reforms and bold leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a key reason for his political shift.

“It is clear that President Tinubu has made tough but necessary decisions to place Nigeria on a path of sustainable growth,” he said.

He described their discussions as insightful and focused on collaborative strategies to enhance Lagos State’s socio-economic resilience.

“Our conversations centered on forward-looking initiatives aimed at driving development and improving the lives of Lagosians,” Jandor added.

“I’m grateful for the warm hospitality extended to my team and me, and for the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue on shared goals.”
