Mr. Ajose Kumayon, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate for Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, has pledged to run a people-oriented administration if elected in the upcoming local government elections.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Badagry on Tuesday, Kumayon emphasized his commitment to inclusive governance that prioritizes community involvement, infrastructure development, security, and youth empowerment.

Kumayon stated that his administration would actively collaborate with Community Development Associations (CDAs) across Olorunda LCDA. “These associations live within the communities and understand their challenges firsthand. Their input will be critical in shaping responsive and impactful policies,” he said.

He also promised to rehabilitate key link roads to improve mobility and enhance accessibility within the council area.

On the issue of safety, Kumayon vowed to maintain a secure and peaceful environment for all residents. “We will create a security-friendly atmosphere where every resident can go about their daily activities without fear or intimidation. There will be no room for religious or ethnic bias,” he added.

Focusing on youth and women empowerment, the APC candidate unveiled plans to establish a modern skills acquisition center. “We’ll train youths in tech and vocational skills that guarantee sustainability and long-term relevance,” Kumayon explained. He also mentioned engaging youths in sports as a strategy to reduce crime and promote healthy lifestyles.

“No idle hands. We’ll keep our young people positively engaged, which is the best way to secure the future,” he stressed.

Kumayon concluded with a bold promise to outperform his predecessors. “If given the mandate, our impact will surpass that of past chairmen. We’re committed to real change at the grassroots.”
