Moshood Jimoh Named New Commissioner of Police for Lagos
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially approved the appointment of Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command.
Jimoh, who served as the Force Spokesman from January 2017 to January 2019, has held several key positions within the police force. These roles include Deputy Commissioner of Airport Police, Deputy Commissioner of Finance and Administration, Deputy Commissioner of General Investigation, and Commissioner of Police for the Ports Authority, Eastern Ports.
In a statement issued on Monday, February 17, 2025, PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani confirmed Jimoh’s appointment, noting his extensive experience and diverse leadership roles within the police force.
Jimoh, a native of Kwara State, has undergone several professional training programs, including:
- Combat Operations Course at the Mobile Training College in Maiduguri
- African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan
- Weapons of Mass Destruction Countermeasure First Responder Training at the U.S. Institute
- Social Construction and Management Reform at the China Executive Leadership Academy, Pudong
- Maritime Rescue and Salvage for Developing Countries at the China Maritime Academy, Ningbo
- Anti-Hijacking Techniques at Yunnan Police College, China
- Police Training at the Police Training Institute, Seoul, South Korea
Additionally, CP Moshood Jimoh is the recipient of the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year, awarded by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations for his exceptional contributions to public relations.
Ani confirmed that CP Jimoh appeared before the Police Service Commission today for his official appointment.
